The paper presents results of experimental investigation of fluidic ash slurries; it is focussed on the effect of particle size distribution and concentration on the hydraulic gradient vs. the average velocity relationship and slurry flow behaviour. The concentrated fluidic ash slurry is time dependent; its shearing results in a substantial reduction of the hydraulic gradient in laminar region and in a marked shift of the laminar/turbulent transition point towards lower velocity value. Presence of bottom ash affects favourably flow behaviour of concentrated fluidic ash slurries; it decreases pressure gradient and makes possible to reach higher slurry concentration.
