The characteristics of the H2 production by Rhodobacter sphaeroides were investigated inphotosynthetic reactor which lives stock wastewater is fed as a substrate. In order to productvolatile fatty acid (VFA), the acid reactor with submerged separation membrane installedfollowing photosynthetic reactor. The condition of light energy in photosynthetic reactor was8000 LUX (Run 1) and 10000 LUX (Run 2), respectively. The total organic matter removalrate in photosynthetic reactor (Run 1 and 2) was about 65% and 73% respectively. Hydrogengas production of Run 1 and 2 was 150 ml/day, 260 ml/day, respectively. The H2 gasproduction rate per VFA removal in the photosynthesis reactor (Run 1 and 2) was 125 mlH2/gVFACOD and 200 ml H2/gVFACOD, respectively.
