This paper dedicate to development of loop heat pipe (LHP) in thermal control system of nickel hydrogen battery (TCS NHB). The paper describes the results of Loop Heat Pipes (LHP) development for nickel hydrogen battery (TCS NHB). LHP transfer up to 125 W within distance up to 3.5 m and provide specified temperature with accuracy of ±3 K at changing of heat generation and radiator temperature. Pressure controller with bypass line installed to provide regulation in LHP. This line connect vapor line with condenser. When temperature is decreasing the valve provides vapor' spilling over from vapor line into compensating chamber. That result in evaporator temperature increase and keeping it at the specified level. Mathematical model was developed and numerical analysis of heat-mass exchange dynamics of proposed thermal control system was carry out. Design performances for various operational modes were determined. LHP complete qualification tests were performed including series of ground tests at various orientations in gravity field. Tests show stable operation of the system for all analyzed conditions. 8 LHP was installed into "Yamal-200" spacecraft. Two satellites with each 4 LHP's were launched in 24 Njvember 2003. Each and every LHP are functioning well. Results of numerical analysis, ground tests and orbit operation comply with each over and are shown in the presentation.
