Study on a new Kind of Halogen-Free Flame Retardant Cable Materials

A kind of silicon resin flame retardant (ZD) is prepared used by waste silicon rubber. Then two kind of polyphase halogen-free flame retardant insulating material system are prepared with ZD and other halogen-free flame retardant. The interfacial properties of the composite systems are analyzed by TEM. The flaming, mechanical and electrical properties are also studied. The result shows that the flame retardant system with ZD and Mg(OH)_2, Al(OH)_3 expresses cooperation effect clearly: oxygen index(OI) of this composite reaches 33, the phenomena of flame drip is restrained and the mechanical and electrical properties are all up to the standard. The system with ZD and hydrotalcite also expresses cooperation effect, but this kind of raw material is more expensive.
