Medical Students' Knowledge Level of Acute Pain Management

Clinical pain management depends on the knowledge of medical care providers. For offering better pain service, appropriate education of pain medicine is important before they join clinic practice. Analyzing the knowledge levels of medical students after education program could improve the learning effect. In 2005, students in China Medical University were asked to reply McCaffery's knowledge test after a lecture by the same teacher. The results revealed mat not all the students could fulfill the questionnaire correctly even after a lecture. Comprehensive pain management information could be conducted via the lecture; however continuous education program is necessary.
