The paper deals with a very important and controversies problem of cam's size minimization. A universal accepted parameter for cam's size minimization is the non-blocking condition expressed by means of maximum admissible pressure angle. An easy results is obtained using Flocke's procedure for finding the basic circle's radius, but it have to be reconsidered as is demonstrated in this paper. The paper proposed a new approach for cam mechanism size determination, also from condition of non over passing a maximum admissible value of pressure angle for each of the two follower's strokes. The main geometrical parameters of the cam mechanism with oscillating follower are presented in non-dimensional expression being valuable for any such a mechanism.
