Offset Face Gear Tooth Surface Equations and Simulation

摘要

Because of its small space, high contact ratio, large transmission torque, low vibration and noise, not sensitive to the axial phase error of the worm and so on merits, face gear transmission is widely applied. Compared with more mature cylindrical gear theory and bevel gear theory, in the face gear transmission theory, there are many issues need further study. In this paper, to offset face gear as the research object, study its tooth surface equations. With MATLAB program, Solidworks simulation and other computer-aided analysis tools, simulate the real tooth surface, draw the offset face gear model respectively and verify whether the model is right. These theories are the foundation for tooth contact adjustment, strength analysis and dynamic characteristics analysis of the offset face gear.
