Process planning for automobile panels is a complex activity involving a great amount of knowledge. In this paper, knowledge capturing and knowledge representation for the integrated process planning have been researched and performed. Thus, four knowledge elements have been identified as facts, rules, know-how and pattern for prerequisite. Then stamping facts have been recognized by geometry atom based method, while patterns have been acquired form numerical simulation result by twice data mining. Finally the hybrid object-oriented and rule are accepted to represent basic knowledge, and procedure module is used to construct a logical procedure for quickly solving problem or making decision by sequences of rules. In conclusion, it will provide comprehensive knowledge to support process planning.
