After the oil crisis from the 70'ties, the whole industrial world became very preoccupied doing researches to reduce the energy consumptions and to find replacements for the conventional fuels. Consequently, the equipment suppliers for the cement industry started to develop new technologies and equipments to respond to the new trends. Using of alternative fuels means partial or total substitution of traditional fuels - coal, natural gas, fuel oil - by wastes with calorific power. Using of alternative raw materials means partial substitution of traditional raw materials as limestone, clay/marl, gypsum - or of intermediary products (clinker) by wastes that have similar mineralogical composition. CEPROCIM S.A carried out some projects in order to implement the co-incineration of different kind of wastes such as ,,drill cuttings", plastic foils, used car tyres, saw dust, waste oil. In conclusion, the main effect of using alternative fuels and raw materials is the preservation of the natural resources. The main target of the Cement Industry is to become a "Zero Emission" generator and a friendly environmental industry.
