In this work we take the first steps towards a self-consistent Dirac Green's function approximation to asymmetric nuclear matter, by extending the Dirac Hartree-Fock (DHF) approximation, including the σ, ω, ρ, δ, η and π mesons, to take into account off-shell efects to the self-energy of the nucleons. This is done when one starts considering the general form of the nucleon propagator, taking into account its Dirac and isospin structure. After deriving the self-consistent equations for the mesons, we present a method which is usefull in treating the problem numerically.
