A Multi-Level Platform to Enhance Interoperability in the AEC Industry

Current initiatives worldwide are seeking to secure a culture of co-operation looking for better performance of the AEC industry. Clients and governments are calling for change in this traditionally fragmented industry: integration of the different partners and improvements in process through the whole life cycle of the project is seen as a pre-requisite. The focus has to be on the need to manage the interface between the different project applications as well as the need to improve information flow through integration of electronic data exchange. In this paper a multi-level platform to enhance interoperability in AEC industry is proposed in order to overtake the identified problems.
