Recent modelling efforts in the field of mechanics of the inter vertebral disc, demonstrate that the deformation properties of inter vertebral disc tissue are intimately linked to compositional changes This paper presents uniaxial tensile relaxation experiments of canine annulus fibrosus tissue under stepwise changes of external salt concentration.
