Advanced Manufacturing Technology (AMT) provides tremendous advantages and challenges for organizations. But these technologies have to take into consideration business priorities to obtain a reasonable share of a competitive market to justify their investments. Also, world-wide research found that not all AMT perform as expected. This is because of misunderstanding of firms' needs and objectives. This paper examines the relationship between selected advanced manufacturing technologies and firms' objectives to find the most beneficial technology. Accordingly, Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP), a hierarchical Multiple-Criteria Decision Making Method, is employed for structuring the decision making process for the selection of technologies.
