Nowadays the design of railroad vehicles requires more and more sophisticated design methods. Yesterday, the study only used structural modeling for analysis in the static area today the customer requirements lead to valid design hypothesis in the area of vibratory behavior. The evolution of means of calculation and measurements allows, today, to tackle the problem under numeric and experimental angles This concern of compare calculation with experimentation allowed the Laboratory of Mechanical Engineering in Valenciennes University in collaboration with G.R.R.T (Research regional group on transportation) to associate with C.I.M.T (Industrial Firm of Transportation Equipment) so that to optimize the design of guided transportation prototype (the V.A.L. Light Automatic Vehicle) The study objectives are to determine the influence of annexed elements (coverings, under frame equipments passengers) on the VAL carbody properties, to valid by experimentation the structural modeling for analysis to set by comparison with the calculation a modeliation strategy which allows to take into account these elements in the VAL design. For an easy experimental approach, the tests following different configurations have been performed on a VAL sub-structure. The choice of that last one depends on an optimization study of breaking down in sub-structures finked with the application of modai synthesis in the railway area (see ref [1]).
