Organofluorine compounds have attracted much attention because of their important applications in medicines, pesticides and/or liquid crystalline materials. So, a lot of chemists have been concerned with their synthesis for many years. Among those studies, trifluoromethylation is one of the most fascinating reactions, and there are a lot of reactions for introducing a CF3 group into an organic molecule. Although there are a number of methods for introducing a CF3 unit to an organic molecule, it is difficult to introduce a CF3 group at the α-position of ketones and carbonyl compounds.
