The transition metal-catalyzed activation of a bond which leads to an addition to unsaturated carbon-carbon bonds is atom-economical transformations and has become an interesting research subject in morden organic synthesis. Among many types of o bond such as carbon-hydrogen, and carbon-carbon bonds, the activation of carbon-nitrogen bonds is rare and still considered as challenging subject. We disclosed that the amide moiety of phthalimide adds to the alkynyl bond intermolecularly via decarbonylative carboamination process in the presence of nickel catalyst.
