Unique Advantages of the Glass Body Package

The glass body package has unique advantages over other material sets. Although not a new technology, refinements in process and design have created new capabilities in applications up through the microwave frequency range. A glass body package can be conveniently configured within extant small package body outlines of leaded plastic packages. Additionally, the glass body package provides a true hermetic cavity package. Product comparison will be made with LTCC, HTCC and plastic covering the areas of material set, process and tooling.
