Although this chapter will consider the 10 new member states of the EU, it will initially discuss the bigger picture of global livestock production and consumption trends. It will then discuss the production and consumption of animal products in the new EU member states and conclude with a consideration of the likely impact this will have on the UK Livestock Industry.
