The selection of the reliable materials for the fasteners fabrication is one of the most important problem in the aircraft construction. One of the widely used alloy for fabricating fasteners and rivets, in particular, is alloy V65. It is the wrought aluminum alloy, aluminum - copper - magnesium system [1]. This alloy is ductile enough to be deformed at room temperature after solution treatment and precipitation hardening. That was the main reason to use this aluminum alloy at aviation plants in the former Soviet Union.
