A new method has been presented for recognition of seismogenic zones in the rock mass, the method being called passive tomography. The passivity stands here for the absence of external intervention in the rock mass structure, and the use of naturally occurring seismic events as sources of seismic waves and the mine's seismological network as a measuring base. The measurements performed in coal mines indicate that the solution developed, together with the relevant software, makes it possible to obtain the results enabling to observe the variations, both in space and time domains, that take place in the structure of seismogenic roof rocks under the influence of mining.
