摘要

During the tunneling construction of Nanjing subway, water seepage was observed at Zhujiang Road section of Nanjing city, China. The SASW method is used to investigate and study the soil stratifications in the zone. Results of the investigation confirm that there is a low velocity layer of shear wave and a high water content silty sand soil layer at Zhujiang Road section. Simultaneously, the SASW method is performed to evaluate the degree of compaction in embankment by measuring the shear wave velocity. Through comparing the compaction degree of sand-cone method with shear wave velocity of SASW method, relationship between shear wave velocity and compaction degree measured by sand-cone method is presented for controlling the quality of compaction in embankment.
