It is important that people who work with radiation sources wear a dosimeter device to detect and measure any radiation they might be exposed to, and to ensure that they do not receive more than the recommended dose level. Throughout this work oxides and their mixtures in different proportions in the forms of thin and thick films were used as material for the radiation sensing layers. Detection of radiation was performed based on the fact that both electrical and optical properties of the materials undergo changes upon the exposure to gamma radiation.
