The present article discusses the structure and application of servlets that increase the functionality of a Web-server. The paper presents a generalized net model of the process of starting and work of a servlet in case of a client's HTTP-request. On the basis of estimations about the time needed for executing a separate request, we can impose restrictions over the number of threads created for a request, as well as setting different threads' priorities and times for a second request, if the servlet has not finished computing, but sends only partial results.
