In early 2001, management of the Houston Airport System (HAS) reinitiated a review of the non-secure inter-terminal people mover system. This system had been reviewed with some regularity in previous years because of operational limitations, but no firm decision to proceed with system upgrades or replacement had ever been taken. This paper is focused on the study and alternatives analysis that as been conducted of the functional requirements for inter- terminal passenger conveyance at Bush Intercontinental Airport, Houston (IAH), TX, USA.
