摘要

We have developed a novel screening system in search for protein crystallization conditions using microfluidic reactor array. In this system, protein solution was accurately and equally dispensed into nanoliter-sized multiple aliquots, and mixed with various kind of precipitants using pneumatic pressure. This screening system is highly advantageous since the required amount of expensive proteins could be decreased dramatically compared to conventional methods. As model proteins, we performed crystallization of lysozyme and glucose isomerase, and the capability of this system was demonstrated.
