Industrial implementations of the CAPE-OPEN standard

Since 1995, through a number of collaborative projects, most partially funded by the European Community, an ever increasing cluster of operating companies, software suppliers and academics, has developed the CAPE-OPEN standard for interoperability between process modelling software components and environments. The CAPE-OPEN project proved the feasibility of defining an interface standard between the various software components taking part into a process simulator. The Global CAPE-OPEN project promoted the first commercial releases of CAPE-OPEN compliant process modelling environments and components. With both projects finished, the impetus to implement the various parts of the CAPE-OPEN standard is growing up as proved through a number of commercial and industrial implementations.
