A simple and rapid reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatographic method was developed for the analysis of 9-and 13-HPOD of in reaction product formed from linoleic acid by the partially purified lipoxygenase from ripe tomato fruits. Thus a Eclipse XDB-C8 column (150 mm x 4.6 mm i. d., 5 μm) and a mobile phase of methanol-water-acetic acid (83:17:0.1, v/v) at a flow rate of 1.0 mL/min were used.
