THE CONEY ISLAND PUBLIC BEACH AND BOARDWALK IMPROVEMENT OF 1923

The ASBPA Board of Directors chose the Coney Island Public Beach and Boardwalk Improvement for its 1994 ASBPA Project Award to recognize the foresight and ability of the many people who were involved with the project. The engineering design alone represented outstanding achievement. The understanding of beach processes was uncanny, and its application to the construction of an artificial beach was a pioneering effort.
