Solid-state ~1H and ~(31)P MAS NMR of trialkylphosphine and trialkylphosphine oxide probe molecules adsorbed on various porous solid acid catalysts, namely H-ZSM-5, H-MCM-22, H-Mordenite, H-USY, H-μ, H-MCM-41 and sulfated zirconia, have been studied. It is shown that, qualitative and quantitative information of the acid sites can be obtained when the ~(31)P NMR results are combined with the data obtained from ICP elemental analyses.
