In order to examine the effects of the structural bonding and particle property on one-dimensional compression behaviour one-dimensional compression test was carried out on the weakly bonded granular geomaterials. Some types of bonded materials were prepared using sands being different in grain size distribution and/or single particle crushing strength and certain extent of cement agent. Degree of interparticle bonding was regulated by cement content. Macroscopic strength of structural bonding is estimated from splitting strength. For bonded granular materials the curvature of one-dimensional compression curve is dependent on the degree of structural bonding and mineral composition of particles.
