The electric fatigue properties of ferroelectric ceramics were investigated systematically. A critical frequency of electric field was found for the deterioration of ferroelectric polarization. Model experiments implied that electrode ions might immigrate into bulk ceramics under the application of electric field and internal stress increased due to reorientation of ferroelectric domains. Secondary phases including silver, zirconia and layered perovskite ferroelectric particles were incorporated into ferroelectric bulks, and proved to improve the fatigue endurance of ferroelectric ceramics. The release of internal stress and weakening of internal field owing to secondary phases incorporation were believed to be responsible for it.
