The Effect of the Porous Metal in Ceramics to Metal Brazed Joint

The control of the brazed joint is the factors greatly affecting the properties of the resulting brazed joint. The typical problems made unsatisfication of the joints are as follows. First, the joining line is long and in which the accuracy of the joining clearance (the irregular and discontinuous joining clearance) is not obtained. Second, the case in which only the wide joining clearance cannot be set as the combination of the complicated shape base and the simultaneous brazing of the multiple joining place. Last, the case of the difference of the expansion coefficient of the joint becomes large problem. In the effort to overcome such difficulties, the specially designed jigs have been constructed and, also, the addition of metal powders to the joining gap has been examined. In order to adjust the brazed joints, the porous metals and the metal cloth were used in this study. By applying them for the joint, wide, discontinuous, irregular, and difference of the expansion coefficient gaps were successfully brazed.
