In recent years, there has been a growing interest in the production of biobased and biodegradable greases. The use of these newer raw materials has introduced a different level of complexity, and sometimes unpredictability to grease making. This paper presents an update report on the construction and operation of a production quantity, microwave based, biobased grease manufacturing system. Changes and improvements that were made to the equipment and the process are explained, along with recommendations for future research.
