It is infrequent but it does happen that you can interpret a radiograph and be 99 percent sure of what the final diagnosis will be. I have included examples of both common and rare disease processes that have a very characteristic radiographic appearance. Hypertrophic Osteodystrophy -Young large breed dog with radiolucent double physeal lines and periosteal new bone formation primarily of the distal radial and ulna metaphysis. Panosteitis -Fluffy intramedullary new bone formation in young dogs. Check mid diaphysis humerus and proximal ulna. GSD are particularly affected.
