The high temperature mechanical behaviour of a high pressure die casting magnesium alloy, an AS21X alloy modified by addition of rare earth, was experimentally investigated. The alloy was tested in tensile creep in the temperature range from 70 to 210 deg C. Further, tensile tests were carried out in the temperature range 20-240 deg C. The results were discussed and the high temperature behaviour of the alloy was compared to that of other die-cast alloys.
