The first run of an electronic course book

The use of technology and more specifically the Internet, has been an important advance for distance education. In our case we produced an electronic course book (ECB), accessible by Java-enabled web-browsers. The ECB is complementary to the written material and - at the same time - provides a means for course management. This work-in-progress describes the way in which the ECB is used, the appreciation of the ECB by students, our experience with the development of single concept modules. The early results are based upon an ECB-based course that was given last year
