A synthetic color reproduction simulation system has been built for use in designing photographic images, characterized by inputting the spectral image data acquired with a MBC. With the system, an image simulation accurate enough for practical application of less than 3.0 in color difference is possible even for images captured by negative films used under wide ranges of 2-stop under- to 5-stop over-exposures by developing techniques dealing with such a wide range of exposure as well as colored couplers.
