Over the last decade considerable attention has been directed towards the synthesis of beta-peptides since it has been demonstrated that they can fold to stable secondary structures [1],similar to those of alpha-peptides (i.e.helices,sheets and turns) and also because they are resistant to degradation by proteases and peptidases [2].
