Since the discovery of the immunosupressive activity of cyclosporine A (CsA),considerable work has been devoted to the chemical synthesis of potent analogues [1].More recently,the finding of potential anti-HIV I activity of CsA[2] raised interest for the design of CsA-derived compounds devoid of immunosuppressive activity [3].
