Previous studies have shown that adhesion of Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae to porcine respiratory ciliated cells is a prerequisite for the development of pneumonia (1,2). Porcine tracheal organ cultures have been used as a model to assess attachment to ciliated cells (3). The objective of this study was to evaluate adhesion of M. hyopneumoniae to the porcine respiratory cilia of piglets derived from different litters.
