ORAL IMMUNIZATION WITH FORMALIN-INACTIVATED ACTINOBACILLUS PLEUROPNEUMONIAE MICROSPHERE

摘要

Among available vaccines for A. pleuropneumoniae (AP), the most commonly used is formalin-killed vaccine by injection. However, several studies demonstrate good protective effects of orally applicated AP in pigs. Thus, further research on strategies of convinced pleuropneumoniae immunization in animals are needed to develop an oral vaccine for induction of mucosal immunity. This study evaluates the feasibility of using a microsphere formulation as an oral vaccine in experimental pigs.
