摘要

This paper deals with simulation of ballistic impact of thick composite plate using a meshless method SPH (Smooth Particle Hydrodynamics). A visco-plastic constitutive model and a separate failure criteria for fiber and matrix were used to describe rate dependent response and failure mechanism. Two ballistic impact experiments using high-speed gas gun were conducted. Residual velocities of the bullets were measured. Numerical prediction of residual velocity agrees well with test results.
