Sacrificial anode cathodic protection was applied to the steel pipe piles of refined product jetty of CSPC Nanhai Petrochemical Project, the largest cooperant petrochemical project in domestic. This article includes project general situation, technical targets of cathodic protection, sacrificial anode cathodic protection calculations, electrical connection of the steel pipe piles, underwater welding installation of sacrificial anode, protection effectiveness measurement. According to the project specification, the protection rule and the design parameter of this project are different from the similar internal project, the project specification requires the protection potential should be controlled between –0.85V and –1.15V(vs. Cu/CuSO4 reference electrode). 60mA/m 2 is selected as the protection current density of the coated steel pipe pile in seawater. The installation of sacrificial anode adopts advance underwater local CO2 drainage half-auto welding procedure. By general underwater visual inspection, underwater video selective examination, protection potential measurement of the steel pipe piles, every target are satisfied with the requirement of the project specification, the quality of this project is excellent.
