Optically Coregistered MEG/MRI Markers

Hydrogel based multimodality markers allow simultaneous imaging with human anatomy when placed into Computer Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), and Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scanners. This does not apply to biomagnetic methods like Magnetoencephalography (MEG). Since those markers do not feature magnetic properties, additional magnetic markers have to be introduced. MEG asks for the combination of the magnetic data with the morphological data provided by MRI. A simultaneous registration of different types of markers is possible using optical techniques. Optical coregistration eliminates the need for substituting markers with each other, thus contributing significantly to the overall accuracy.
