A barotropic version of the Princeton Ocean model has been configured fot the Florida rgion as part of a NOAA National ocean Service coastal ocean prediction system. The model domain extends from cuba to the Florida panhandle and includes both the Florida Gulf and Atlantic coasts. The orthogonal curvilinear grid spacing is 5' (approximately 9 km) in both logitude and latiude. The model is fofced at the open boundaries by the tide consisting of four semi-diurnal and four diurnal tiadal consitutuents. The model is also forced by wind stress and atmospheric pressure over the domain, which were obtained from the NOAA National Weather Serice step-coordinate Eta Model output at 29 km resolution.
