For a coastal water quality modeling project, we need two kinds of models, the water quality model and its drivig hydrodynamic model. Because of the significant difference between time steps, and possibly space steps of these two models, an interfacing strategy has an important role for the efficiency of a water quality evaluation probject. However, most dominant water quality models used to-date are Eulerian models requiring relatively small time steps. which detracts from their efficiency for long term simulations.
