Mantle Cell Lymphoma and Kidney Transplant

The incidence of neoplasms on patients who have undergone a solid organ transplantation - a kidney in this case -, has become an important cause of morbi-mortality which increases as the time or survival is extended (8, 9).Literature shows that prevalence ranges from 4 to 7%, about 100 times higher than that of the average population within the same age group, the lowest figures being those of Europe and Scandinavia, whereas Australia and New Zealand have the highest incidence due to skin neoplasms. As far as frequence is concerned, the most common ones are skin tumors other than melanoma, non-Hodgkin's lymphomas, Kaposi's sarcoma, and genitourinary tumors.
