In the traditional learning environment, students are evaluated in two ways: through formal evaluations that basically consist of tests and assignments, and by informal evaluations, which involve observing the student's interest, participation, attendance, etc. In Distance Education, the task of observing the student is hindered by the absence of face-to-face contact between teacher and student. To cope with this new situation, several forms of student interaction with the learning environment are analyzed. This paper proposes a method for the ongoing assessment of distance learning based on the identification and structuring of information about the student's interaction with the learning environment. The purpose of these data is to support management analyses of the influence of the student's approach on his self-learning, which will serve as the basis for guidelines to optimize the ongoing assessment of the student.
