Basic Models of Urban Signalized Intersection in Developing Country

This paper establishes an arrival and departure model of urban signalized intersection under mixed traffic condition, which is a common situation in developing country. To reduce the negative effects of mixed traffic, most researchers care for planning method or control strategy, and some macrocosmic models are studied, but no deeper researches about disturbance are found. In this paper we seek to analyze the mechanism and microcosmic model of disturbance. The special purposes of this paper are to (1) discuss reasons and expression forms of mixed traffic disturbance, (2) compare the arrival vehicle stream with and without mixed traffic condition, (3) study the traffic characteristics of departure model.
