A Volterra approach for nonlinear multi-DOF Structures

In the study of the random dynamics of nonlinear systems, besides the time-domain Monte Carlo-based methods, some frequency-domain approaches are becoming popular. These are typically based on the Volterra series expansion of the nonlinear operator that represents the system. These techniques have been widely applied for single-degree-of-freedom systems, while, very few multi-DOF applications have been presented. The present paper setups a general framework for applying the Volterra approach in the study of multi-DOF systems.
